SOVEREIGN WEALTH FUNDS: AN ASSESSMENT FOR TURKISH ECONOMY

This study aims to evaluate the possible effects of foreign sovereign wealth funds (WF) and the Türkiye Wealth Fund (TWF) on the Turkish economy. It is found that sovereign wealth funds owned by foreign states offer foreign financing to Turkey while at the same time there are potential risks to the economic and national security. Similarly, there are some advantages that TWF can provide to the Turkish economy, but it is observed that there are some deficiencies. It is expressed in the paper what measures are necessary to eliminate these shortcomings and concluded that these measures should be taken immediately
