A QUALITATIVE STUDY ON FAMILY TIES OF INDIVIDUALS WITH ACQUIRED DISABILITYKeywords: Sosyal Sermaye,Sistem Teorisi,Yetiyitimi,Engellilik,Sosyal Hizmet,Aile Ba?lar? Abstract: The concept of social capital, which consists of relationships that determine individual behaviors in society, both interinstitutional relationships and attitudes and between institutions and individuals working for pattern sustainability and also self comments, symbols and meanings of society, forms the backbone of this study. Besides, family ties is the other dimension that supports to approach social capital. Parsons’ system theory is selected as major and mediator approach of this study in order to explain on one side self needs, symbols and relationships of disabled people, who is one of the disadvantaged groups in society, on the other side the junction point of different needs of society upon these people. Face to face interviews were performed among eight individuals with acquired disability by various reasons within this study that planned as to qualitative research design. After the data condensation and codings as appropriate for qualitative data analysis procedure, results are reported by thematizing as descriptive information, interpretation of disability and adoption process, the effects and roles of family ties after disability, changes in relationships, the evaluation of social view for disability, socialization after disability and social capital
