This article examines the dynamics of private and communal soundscapes in the ？engelk？y neighborhood of Istanbul. The study provides a sonic ethnography of the middle-class housing cooperative Ata-2, focusing on how the inhabitants operate as an acoustic community and the types of articulations that this community is made up of.
