Abstract:

The concept of collective consciousness, a western concept, is a phenomenon that has a more comprehensive there by more universal character when it is evaluated together with Islamic and national concepts such as Ibn-i Haldun’s "Sebep Asabiyeti", G?kalp’s "Maseri vicdan". The concepts of collective consciousness and religion are in a relationship and can not be separated. On the basis of this background, it is important to evaluate these two phenomenons together. Islam has provided a common consciousness to Muslims to provide community integrity on the basis of Quranic laws and this common consciousness comes out as an Islamic brotherhood. As a result of the change and development in society, increase in economic wealth, specialization and individualization are predicted to weaken collective consciousness according to classical western sources. The sociological impact of increase in specialization and individualization in the context of Islam?c brotherhood has produced different results compared to western societies. As an example to this situation, which we have given more information in the text, is Muslims. On the contrary of the western societies, Muslims have strengthened collective consciousness in society by providing economic development using their Islam?c brotherhood. This could be seen in example of the Muhajirun and the Ensar. Finally, the Qur'an deals with the topics like; how the collective consciousness created through worships therefore our research will provide some information about this topics. Since sociality is as effective as conscience in worships; an evaluation of fundamental worships in Islam in terms of social integration and collective consciousness has been made and the effects of social consciousness have been examined for collective consciousness of worships in terms of forming an Islam?c brotherhood in this research. From this point of view, the main subject of our research is the study of the Islamic brotherhood as an example of the concept of collective consciousness in Quran and also the evaluation of sociological consequences in this context
