An Attempted Analysis on “University”

This article focuses on the notion of university. The analysis framework on which the study is based is constructed on a comparative level, and in the first part an introduction is made to the historical development of the university idea, which constitutes a decisive element of Western cultural history. Then, the root problems that have become established in Turkish universities are discussed. In the last part, the determinations related to the destruction caused by these problems in micro and macro scale are made
