Establisment Of The Moral Subject In Factotum And Paterson Films Abstract

Ethics in Michel Foucault, handled in its form that to set up oneself as the moral subject of one's behaviour as a result of the ？ndividual’s relationship with oneself. In order to reveal the individual's relations with oneself, Foucault apply to self-anxiety studies. The self-anxiety that essentially based on the principle of self-attention, involve self-relations that individual set up physically and mentally. The self-anxiety that exists as a culture in antiquity also together with relations with others in the life of society, actualize in an interaction. In this study, Factotum and Paterson movies, which tell the story of characters who are trying to make a conscious existence effort through their own literary discourses, are discussed. Characters that named Chinaski and Paterson how formed a relationship with themselves in order to realize themselves, and how they made turn into the ethical subjects of their behavior were examined through the self-practice. Social dimension of self-anxiety, relations with others, the people that had close relationship with heroes in stories, it is discussed under the title of power relations together with their working lives
