Analysis of Secondary School Student’s Views on The Design of Turkish Lesson Books

Abstract:

Mother language education is one of the subjects that attract the interest of researchers due to the emotional and mental processes it contains. Since it is a language and culture lesson, Turkish lessons are also important in mother language education. When Turkish language lesson curriculum is analyzed, it is seen that the gains are gathered under four main headings. It is possible to list them as listening, reading, speaking and writing. Grammar in the new Turkish language lesson program is presented as the sub-acquisition of other language skills. Turkish lesson books are one of the most basic materials used in mother language education in schools. For this reason, Turkish lesson books should be evaluated in terms of quality and quantity. In particular, determining the students' attitudes towards Turkish lesson books will contribute to the development of books. In this research, it is aimed to reach the general evaluations, opinions and suggestions of secondary school students about Turkish lesson books. In this research, a case study was conducted among qualitative research methods. Student interview forms were used as data sources. In the evaluation of the data obtained in the study, document review was preferred. As a result of the research, it was observed that the students supported the simplification of the books. In addition, it has been concluded that the students want to see the subject expressions and tests for Turkey general examinations in Turkish lesson books
