HEALTH CHILDREN GAMES OF SEL？M SIRRI (TARCAN)

Selim S？rr？ (Tarcan) Bey is one of the important names of the Turkish physical education. Education and Game magazine, which is among hundreds of works published by him on physical education, is one of the periodicals that reflect the physical education heritage inherited by the Republic of Turkey. The Education and Game magazine that was started to be published in Istanbul in August 1911 aimed to give the mental and physical education needed by the new generation. This magazine published 105 years ago includes many children games, gymnastics and health games in regard to the physical education invented by Selim S？rr？ Bey. Health games and children gymnastics that families can easily apply on their children for the bodily development of the children and their health were given with photographs. 24 games and movements given with full-size photographs and the information below them under the title of “children health games” were shown on the children of Selim S？rr？ Bey and presented to the readers with an intelligible content. These games aimed to help the bones, muscles, and inner organ development and gaining individual and social discipline of the children, as well as fulfilling their fun, needs.
