Abstract:

Poetry has been one of the leading literary arts in the Early Islamic Period and it also has witnessed important events of the period. There are two Muslim poets of this period: Hassan b. Sabit and Ka’b b. Malik. Both poets wrote poems in the pre-Islamic period. The two poets after becoming Muslims they wrote poems defending the ?slam and the prophet. The two poets expressed both their ?slamic meanings and the virtues of pre-?slamic period in their poems. In this study ?t focused on the evaluations on Muhammad that written by the two poets for Muhammad. The sample poems were taken from the various odes found in their divan. The couplet or couplets which may be an example for the research are mentioned. It given Muhammad's character depictions as a prophet and as a human. Poets benefited from the meanings of the Quran on portraits of his as prophet. There are some examples are shown for uses the values of ancient culture in their descriptions as a human. These assessments are reviewed by giving examples of some of the poets of pre-Islamic poetry.
