CONTRIBUTIONS FROM ADIYAMAN DIALECT TO THE DICTIONARY OF COMPILATION: VERB

The exact definition of all elements of language requires a thorough exploration of dialects. In this respect, the dialects are an important source in determining the phonetic and morphological characteristics of the language and to reveal the vocabulary completely. An annex or vocabulary element which is determined in the historical periods of Turkish but not in the standard written language today can continue to be used in the dialects. In this respect, the dialects contribute to language studies in establishing a connection between the historical periods of the language and its contemporary period. In addition to being very valuable for all areas of Turkology, dialects have a special feature. With today's rapidly developing technology and communication tools, dialect features can be lost. For this reason oral vocabulary elements in dialects must be transferred to the written language. Prepared for this purpose, the Dictionary of compilation is the most basic resource for oral dictionary. However, this does not mean that all words living in the dialects are found in this work. Today, there are words that do not live in the Anatolian dialects and have not entered the Dictionary of Compilation. Contribution to the Compilation Dictionary is done in terms of eliminating this deficiency. There are very few words registered in the Dictionary of Compilation from the dialects of Ad？yaman province and region. The dialects in this region have a rich vocabulary. In our study, it is aimed to contribute to the compilation dictionary from this vocabulary. Since there are too many words to contribute, only verbs are included in this study
