AN ANONYMOUS CATECHISM AND EXAMPLES AGAINST THE LANGUAGE HARMONY MENTIONED IN THAT CATECHISMKeywords: dil uyumu,kal?nl?k-incelik uyumu, kli?ele?mi? imla, ilmihal Abstract: The language harmony or backness harmony which has existed since the earliest periods of Turkish has been substantially preserved until today and it is possible to see examples against this harmony in some written works. They can be associated with not only the stereotyped spelling of Turkish, but also with dialect characteristics and the developments and changes observed in Turkish in the course of history. Therefore, it is not accurate to ignore these disharmonies. The present study was conducted on an anonymous catechism registered to the Library of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. It is remarkable that there are many examples against language harmony in this work. These examples were determined and some assumptions were made in the light of the relevant works written so far. Thus, it was aimed to contribute to studies to be conducted for the historical development of Turkish and the clarification of dialect characteristics
