EVALUATION OF THE CONCEPT OF SECURITY IN THE POST COLD WAR ERA IN THE CONTEXT OF REALISM AND NEOREALISMKeywords: Uluslararas? Güvenlik,Realizm,Neorealizm,Uluslararas? ?li?kiler Teorileri Abstract: Even though the security area has undergone radical changes after the Cold War due to the prominence of individual security, the weakening of the nation-state and the relative importance of military security, ,as world-wide issues are taken into consideration, that the realistic and neo-philosophical intellectual framework is still supported by various data. This article aims to analyze the existing security environment in the framework of realism and neorealism. The military options will still be a strong trump card for problems such as terrorism and border issues and will be evaluated in terms of international relations theories. It is emphasized that the states are still in a strong position through analyzing the current international relations and international security environment. Especially in the recent years since the civil wars are becoming topical issues and have begun to affect people, military options have started to come into prominence and powerful states have competed for their self interest in volatile region In addition to the increasing interdependence, it is seen that new alliance structures and blocks are formed as current issues like the Syrian Civil War are observed. Civil war and instability have features that can confirm the hypothesis of realism and neorealism
