THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MUSICAL SOUNDS AND COSMIC ORDER IN THE ALKIND？’S THOUGHT SYSTEM

The first author whose works related to music in the Islamic thought are available today is al-Kind？. The philosopher wrote ten books on music; however, only four of them have reached the day. Music is the way cosmos expresses itself according to Kind？’s system of thought. According to him, the universe has a perfect order. He also considers the universe like a human being and compares it to human organism. Kind？ has established a relationship between the perfect order in the world and the harmony of the sounds of music and explains the characteristics of music instruments and concepts such as rhythm and tune uni？？ue to music art through cosmology, namely celestial bodies, material artifacts and human organisms.
