DECISION MAKING METHODS AND APPLICATIONS FOR COMBAT FIELD FUNCTIONS

ABSTRACT Decision environment may comprise of certainty, ambiguity, and risk situations at various levels. The decision process is the process of assessing a holistic view of the environmental factors, defining the problems, determining the possible alternatives as a solution, making a systematic assessment and determining the most appropriate decision between them. Effective and accurate management of the process is very important in terms of the objectives of the organizations. Today, in maintaining national security; finding the optimal modes of operation by exploring the operation for the effective use of the armed forces, defining the problems, analyzing the military power, and using system and analytical methods, are becaming even more important. In the study, it is aimed to show how the decision process can be implemented in the field of defense in the field of defense and which analytical methods can be used. Primarily, in general the decision environment, the factors that will influence the decision and the process are explained. Subsequently, probable problem areas for military functional areas are mentioned. Later, analytical methods and applications that can be used in the solution of these problems are explained
