A New Home Gateway Design and A Sensor-Based Smart Home Application Including Privacy Protection

In this study, a new SIM900 GSM / GPRS module card has been designed. Also, a new home gateway has been designed and implemented by combining the newly designed module with sensor nodes previously developed by us. In addition, this home gateway and sensor nodes are used together to implement a smart home application. In the application, temperature-humidity, light, air, water and motion sensors are used. Users can control and monitor both space-based and sensor-based. A secure communication is established between the sensor nodes and the home gateway with AES encryption algorithm. The work is an originality because it includes both a new home gateway design, smart home application and privacy protection. This work will be beneficial to smart home users and practitioners
