Nahit Ulvi Akgün, in being remembered as a romantic Turkish poet, is known best for his lyric poetry. His poetry wafts with this love of life. His initial works reflect more his road to individuality than they do love. He was never a populist poet. In his view, a poet is one who depicts society through her/his own identity.
