Circumcision is the world’s oldest surgical procedure. Almost 70% of circumcised children are Muslim. The medical indication for circumcision include phimosis, paraphimosis, recurrent urinary tract infection, and children who require clean intermitant catheterization. Complications of circumcision are at the rate of 0.2% and 5%. The complications of circumcision are divided into two categories as ‘early’ and ‘late’. Early complications of circumcision are bleeding, wound infection, pain, the removal of either too little or too much foreskin, amputation of the glans penis and death. Late complications of circumcision are meatal stenosis, skin bridge, inclusion cysts, ürethral f?stula and meatal ulcers. Contraindications of circumcision include hypospadias, epispadias, sex development disorders, prematurity, chordee of penis, micropenis, curled penis, bleeding diathesis and concealed penis.
