Bibliometric Analysis on City Logistics

The growth rate of the world population and better living conditions, reasons such as search for employment and development, encourages more people migrate from rural areas to urban areas; As a result of this, human population living in the cities tend to increase significantly. This tendency indicates that existing urban problems will complex further. City logistics aims to reduce problems such as traffic congestion, noise, air pollution and energy consumption caused by freight and passenger transport in urban areas while supporting economic and social development of cities. This study aims to make a bibliometric analysis of the book, article and conference paper works with keyword search ‘’city logistics’’ in the titles in the social sciences database of ISI Web of Science and Scopus. In recent years, bibliometric analysis that is a frequently used research method in the field of social sciences, examines the basic criteria such as number of authors and articles, author profile, place of publication, year, article subject, purpose of research and resource usage. Thanks to bibliometric analysis, the study aims to identify the research trends in the city logistics, to recognize the various aspects of the research in this field and also to identify the gaps in the field and to contribute to the future studies
