THE VALUES AND PERFECTONISM AS PREDICTORS OF SOCIAL ANXIETY IN UNIVERSITY STUDENTSKeywords: Sosyal Kayg?,De?erler Abstract: The purpose of this research is to examine the social anxieties of university students in terms of values and perfectionism. The research was conducted as general screening model and the sample of the research consists of a total of 241 university students, including 121 girls (% 50.2) and 120 boys (%49.8) who study at various parts of a state university. The Social Anxiety Scale, Schwartz Values List and Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale were used for college students in the collection of the data. Research findings showed that values and perfectionism are important predictors of social anxiety (fear of being evaluated negatively, social avoidance and feeling discomfort in general situations, social avoidance and feeling discomfort in new situations). The suggestions were presented by discussing the results that were obtained in the light of the related literature
