Could it be Perfect Motherhood? Keywords: Annelik,Mükemmellik Abstract: Abstract Perfectionism is generally described as '' effort for perfection ''. There are many definitions of perfectionism that have been made in different forms till today, Is perfecionism associated with positive outcomes or negativeoutcomes for an individual? Perfectionism is an in herited personality characteristic also it is a character with over cri-ticism of the self-assessment in the framework of high standards. When we look at the literature, we see that Perfectionism is defined in different forms; one dimensional, categorical and multidimensional. We see that describing perfectionism as a one-dimensional, perfectionism as a negative feature and only focuses on the self-harming one. Thecategorical view states that perfectionism can also be regarded as a "normal" feature as long as it does not disturb one'sadaptation to the environment and the definitions are divided into two parts: normal / adaptive and neurotic / mala-daptive. While adaptive perfectionism has high targets, while maintaining satisfaction with its performance, maladaptive perfectionism has ambiguity about the inability and capacity to satisfy its own performance, ultimately setting highstandards that are unattainable. The main difference is thatwhile normal / compliant perfectionists set realistic goals, others are stuck in unrealistic targets. However, there is nowevidence that multidimensional scales developed to evaluate this feature are a complex and versatile structure that canlead to positive and negative consequences of perfectionism. It is emphasized that while some of the features of perfectionism are considered healthy psychological functioning and socially desirable in all these evaluations, others may have negative consequences such as excessive fear of failure andexcessive selfcritical attitude. Two of the most commonly used measures to measureperfection in research are; The Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (FMPS) developed by Frost et al in 1990 and the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale (HMPS) developedby He witt and Flett in 1991.Perfection is a relative concept. Perfection by what andby whom? The mom’s do not have to be perfect, it is notpossible at all. Instead of the perfect mom to say “Good Mother “ is enough
