Reflections of The Perception of Civilization in The City

Cities are the most ancient witnesses of the time, carrying many secrets about the existence perception of civilizations which brought them to life. As well, the cities, meeting points of the civilizations come together not only soul of the different spaces but also soul of the different times. Even if the names change, the similarities in myth, religion and symbolic narratives are the proof that humanity is always in search of the same thing. Human is the main principle that allows to separate both the earth and the sky as well as to connect them. Namely, since Adam, human has been pursued himself actually. The existence of everything that exists between these two layers in the universe is necessarily dependent on him/her. In the world of phenomena each creature symbolizes a truth. Every civilization engraves the secret of truth with symbols to its work. Trees or birds conceal the truth. The tree of life and bird motifs in architectural works have much deeper symbolic meanings than the things in nature. To examine and interpret the bird house styles which have similar symbolic values found in Seljuk and Ottoman mosque architecture in more detail will both strengthen the language of the communication between civilizations and remind of the knowledge about human which has been interrupted from time to time in history
