Biological and ecological observations on Mesobuthus gibbosus (Brullé, 1832) (Scorpiones: Buthidae)Keywords: Mesobuthus gibbosus,yavru bak?m?,deri de?i?imi,Scorpiones,Buthidae,Türkiye Abstract: Mesobuthus gibbosus (Brullé, 1832) is one of the most common scorpion species of arid fauna with a wide distribution in hot and arid regions of Turkey. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the biology and ecology of M. gibbosus under laboratory conditions and in the wild in Manisa province (Turkey). In this study, the field studies were carried out between April 2003 and September 2004. It was noted that the reproductive period, which lasts from July to August, was the most active period for the species. Also, some information is provided about maternal care, giving birth, molting, feeding habits, and effects of the lunar cycle on M. gibbosu
