Pneumothorax Associated With Human Metapneumovirus PneumoniaKeywords: ?nsan metapn?movirüs,Pn?motoraks,Viral pno?moni Abstract: Viral pneumonias are important causes of mortality and morbidity in children under two years of age. Human metapneumovirus has been isolated from the airways in recent years and causes different clinical pictures ranging from mild upper respiratory tract infection to bronchiolitis and pneumonia. Pneumonia and pneumothorax was detected in a 13-month-old male patient who was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit due to respiratory distress and oxygen demand. Thorax tube was inserted in the right lung. Human metapneumovirus detected in nasopharynx swab PCR and IVIG treatment was performed due to severe clinical picture. Especially in pediatric infants with viral pneumonia, hMPV should be considered as a causative agent and should be predicted that the disease may be seen with a more severe clinical picture
