On the Mission of Aleppoean Zeki Pasha in Germany

In this article, the activities of Aleppoean Zeki Pasha during his mission as the "murahhas (Sultan’s Special Envoy/Liaison Officer)" of the Ottoman Sultan in the presence of the German Emperor were discussed. The aim of the study was mainly to reveal the essence of Zeki Pasha's mission by using archive records. When the mission of Zeki Pasha, which started in 1914, was thought to have continued until the end of the First World War, the coexistence or separation of views and thoughts between the Ottoman Empire and Germany was discussed. It seems that the issues of correspondence, the situation in the fronts, the issues related to the alliance and Enver Pasha's views on war and the proposals of the war are concentrated in the German authorities. The task that Zeki Pasha undertakes in the fact that Enver Pasha made accurate determinations of the war and his war tactics, especially to Ludendorff and to the German General Staff, is important for the role of the Ottoman State in the decision-making process of war. Information on the mission of Zeki Pasha, which was mentioned in British intelligence documents after the First World War, and especially on Enver Pasha, was considered as a side effect of this task
