Abstract: On July 15, 1974, a military coup was made by a group of soldiers in the Republic of Cyprus. As a result of the military coup, the President of Cyprus III. Makarios left the country and a military junta was established. Turkey, launched Cyprus Peace Operation against the coup on July 20, 1974, using the guarantor state right. After Turkey's military intervention, the north of Cyprus was brought under the control of the Turkish Armed Forces. In the following process, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) was established in support of Turkey. With the establishment of the TRNC, the Turks living on the island were under a management that could determine their own destiny. In this process, nationalist discourses increased in Turkey, films about the heroism of the Turkish soldier were made, books were printed and songs were composed in Turkey. In particular, the songs regarding Cyprus Peace Operation played an important role in removing the forefront of nationalist feelings in Turkey. In this study, the song “Girne’den Yol Ba?lad?k Anadolu’ya”, which was composed during the Cyprus Peace Operation and became one of the most popular songs of that period, was analyzed in the context of the discourse of nationalism. For this purpose, the lyrics of the song via semiotic analysis and music via music analysis methods were examined. The lyrics of the song were analyzed in the light of the semiotics of the French linguist Roland Barthes. In the context of the findings, it was seen that the Turkish soldier was ennobled in the heroic dimension in the context of nationalism, but that there was an attempt to create a perception against the Greek military junta by reminding the hostilities against Greece in the past
