Strategic Career Planning: Fuzzy Logic Approach

Strategic career planning is a type of career planning by analyzing all factors of the individual. In this context, strategic career planning consists of 5 stages. First; is the determination of the mission and vision. Second; determining the strengths and weaknesses. Third is to anticipate the threats and opportunities. Fourth, it is the determination of the basic career strategies. Finally, ranking the basic career strategies by using fuzzy TOPSIS approach. The aim of this study is to determine the strategies to be followed by the students by making a strategic career planning for university students and to rank these strategies according to their importance. For this purpose, students' opinions were taken with the strategic career planning form, which was formed in accordance with the students who have taken postgraduate education in the Department of Business Administration in the Institute of Social Sciences of Bayburt University. The students were asked about their mission, vision, strengths and weaknesses, and their threats and opportunities. In the analysis phase of the study, firstly, 4 strategies were determined by using the mission and vision findings of students and SWOT analysis findings and these strategies were scored by 3 experts. Scored strategies are listed with Fuzzy TOPSIS Method. As a result of the analysis, the strategy of” being a manager in public or private sector” has been determined as the most appropriate strategy.
