Calculation of Radiation Absorption Parameters for Some Selected Ferrite Ceramics

Abstract:

Ferrite ceramics are the most commonly used permanent magnet materials because comparatively low-cost, easy to produce, excellent corrosion and demagnetization resistance properties. Ferrite ceramics are utilized in the medical devices, magnetic therapy, magnetic toys, speakers, microphones, audio systems, permanent magnetic actuators, watt-hour meters, sensors, cell phones, electric motors, etc. In this study, mass attenuation coefficients, molecular cross sections, atomic cross sections, electronic cross sections, effective atomic numbers and effective electron densities were investigated in the energy range from 1 keV to 100 GeV for BaFe12O19, SrFe12O19, Y3Fe5O12, LiFeO2. The changes in the absorption parameters were interpreted with the photoelectric effect, Compton scattering and pair production processes
