Lithium Intoxication: Single Drug-Three ComplicationsKeywords: Lityum intoksikasyonu, hemodiyaliz, alkalen diürez Abstract: The therapeutic index of lithium is very narrow and it has an extremely high potential for toxicity. In the majority of patients receiving maintenance lithium treatment, toxicity occurs at some period during the treatment process. In chronic use, renal toxicity may occur as natriuresis and nephrogenic diabetes insipitus while acute toxicity may cause gastrointestinal, cardiovascular and neurological symptoms. The purpose of lithium intoxication treatment is to remove toxin from the body. There is no specific antidote. The high amount of sodium and fluid used in the treatment increases lithium excretion. Hemodialysis is an appropriate option in patients with severe, especially neurological symptoms. In this case report, we aimed to present the results of rapid fluid resuscitation and hemodialysis in a lithium intoxication case that presented with acute gastrointestinal, renal and neuropsychiatric symptoms
