Optimal Energy Mix Determination to Regulate Uncertain Production of HPP and SPP: Malatya City Case StudyKeywords: Yenilenebillir Enerji,Optimum Enerji Kar???m? Abstract: An energy demand in the world is increasing rapidly. To meet this growing energy demand, countries have turned to renewable energy sources in addition to traditional energy sources. In addition to many advantages of renewable energy sources, there are also some disadvantages. One of the major disadvantages of renewable energy sources is that they have a variable and unstable characteristic. Uncertainly changing energy production over time makes it difficult to maintain supply-demand power balance in electricity networks. In this study a method to regulate unstable and variable productions of Solar Power Plant (SPP) and Hydro Power Plant (HPP) is emphasized. Method is based on the idea that SPP and HPP production can be made more stable in total with appropriate mixing ratios. In order to implement the method, a HPP and SPP production in Malatya province was obtained. The variability of HPP and SPP productions are investigated by calculating Pearson correlation coefficient and standart deviation values. SPP and HPP productions were mixed at certain ratios and the standard deviation values of the total mixture are recalculated. As a result of the study, the Pearson correlation coefficient for the analyzed HPP and SPP productions is found as -0.625. This value indicates that there is an inverse correlation between HPP and SPP productions and total production will be more regular. Also it has been seen that 25% HPP and 75% SPP production mix has minimum standart deviation value
