Abstract:

This study was carried out during the growing season of 2015-2016 in order to determine the effect of different sowing times on the yield and quality of some wheat, barley and triticale varieties grown in Bing?l ecological conditions. In the research; 1 triticale (Umranhanim), 1 two row barley (Sahin-91), 1 six row barley (Altikat), 1 bread wheat (Pehlivan) and 1 durum wheat (Firat-93) cultivars were used as plant material. The research was established as a randomized complete block design with four replications. In the study; plant height, green herbage yield, dry herbage yield, crude protein, crude protein yield, acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), digestible dry matter (DDM), dry matter intake (DMI) and relative feed value (RFV) characteristics were investigated. On average in the results of research; plant height, green herbage yield, dry herbage yield, crude protein, crude protein yield, acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), digestible dry matter (DDM), dry matter intake (DMI) and relative feed value (RFV) were ranged from 71.5 to 86.0 cm, 1854.7 to 3140.6 kg da-1, 520.4 to 767.1 kg da-1, 11.2 to 12.5%, 65.4 to 92.4 kg da-1, 32.2 to 34.6%, 56.1 to 61.2%, 62.0 to 63.8%, 1.96 to 2.14% and 95.5 to 103.3 respectively. From the perspective of the quality characteristics examined, it was seen that the cereals gave close results and the triticales appeared to be in the foreground in terms of yield characteristics. In generally, the highest values were obtained from early sowing dates. Therefore, it was concluded that the best optimum sowing time in Bing?l could be 1-15 October for herbage yields at cereal specie
