Analysis of National and Universal Values in the Fifth Class Social Studies Curricula and Course Books

Social Studies course has a great importance in values education. Textbooks which are the primary source for the teachers and students to follow and follow the lesson, and how much the values are given to the values in the curriculums where the content of the course is formed are of great importance. This research aims to determine the distribution of national and universal values in the 5th grade curriculum and textbooks and to reveal the importance and necessity of the value education to be given to 5th grade students. The Social Studies Grade 5 textbook used in this study was published by Anadol Publishing in 2018 and is still in use.The research was designed as a qualitative research in thetype of surveyanddocumentanalysis was used as a data collection tool. As a result of the analysis of the Social Studies curriculum and textbook, it has been observed that national and universal values are tried to be spread throughout the program, andvalues areincluded in each learning area
