The main factor of the great and longevity of the Ottoman Empire is that it could have kept many ethnic people together under the same roof. A clearer says, is that many different believers can live together for a long time in peace. The Armenians who lived in peace and coexistence for hundreds of years in the serenity of peace and brotherhood which the Ottoman Empire put forth, took part in almost all the bureaucratic and administrative structures of the state. Achieving important rights in religious, political, commercial, social, economic and cultural fields, Armenians attained the comfort and peace that they could never reach and acquire in Ottoman society. The most vivid example of this is XIX. The Armenian population is living in the Canik (Samsun) region in the 20th century and holding all kinds of rights
