Some Quick Rules Ut Pictura Poesis: The Rules for Smile in Miftah al-Ul？m

The author deals with phenomenon of simile (tashb？h) which is a topic of al-bayan sub-field of Arabic Rhetoric in the case of Miftah by Sakkak？. In this context, he evaluates elements (arkan) and circumstances (ahwal) and kinds (anwa’) and reasons (a？raz) of simile in axis of intellect and sense according to elements such as soul (nafs), good-bad, easy-difficult, common-rare, familiar-unfamiliar. With this article, the author, on the one hand, presents that Sakkak？’s considering this issue, on the other hand, interrogates also contribution of Sakkak？ to field of Arabic literary criticism by comparing between him and his predecessors such as Jurjan？ and Raz？
