Pre-Service Classroom Teachers’ Motivational Orientations Affecting Their Selection of ProfessionKeywords: Motivason,meslek se?imi,??retmen yeti?tirme,alan se?imi Abstract: The current study aims to investigate the pre-service classroom teachers’ motivational orientations affecting their selection of their field and profession. The study group of the current research employing the mixed model is comprised 132 students attending the Department of Classroom Teacher Education at the Education Faculty of Mu?la S?tk? Ko?man University. In light of the findings of the current study, it can be argued that “intrinsic and extrinsic motivational orientations are more effective on the female students’ selection of field and profession than on the male students. The students also stated that if they were able to select the profession of teaching, they would again select the classroom teaching. It is seen that the interviews with the students differ in the wishes and expectations of the first and fourth grade students. This may indicate the effect of their intrinsic motivation
