Usage of Waste Materials in ArchitectureKeywords: At?k,geri d?nü?üm,mimarl?k Abstract: Increasing number of people, technological development and its impact on the consumption habits increased the waste amount in today's world cities and changed it's type. These wastes are not easily absorbed in the natural circle. When the natural resources are used unconsciously, it should be taken into account the fact that it could be exhausted and not infinite. In this respect, reuse and recycling of wastes are important in terms of conserving the environment, preventing waste of resources and saving energy. However, recycling of waste also requires energy and cost, and reuse is a more suitable solution. Today, reuse of wastes is important in the field of architecture which aims to create sustainable spaces. When the projects which are formed by recycling of wastes in the field of architecture are examined, it can be seen that they vary from housing scale to the creation of public spaces on urban scale. In this study, it is aimed to examine the architectural examples which are realized by the re-use of waste materials resulting from consumption. The method of the study is based on the literature. For this purpose, architectural examples from the scale of housing, which is performed with waste materials in the world, to the creation of public spaces on urban scale were investigated. These examples were selected from projects which are in different geography area and scales also generally were carried out a with simple labor force. When these samples are examined, it is seen that it has been contributed to create sustainable, environmentally friendly structures and public spaces due to modular, low-cost and sustainable materials are used and to the reduction of the amount of waste
