Rehabilitation After Lumbar Disc Surgery and the Role of the NurseKeywords: ?ntervertebral disk,Cerrahi,Rehabilitasyon Hem?ireli?i Abstract: Although surgery has an important place in the treatment of lumbar hernia, patients may experience mild or moderate lumbar and leg pain, disability, limitation of activity, decrease in work performance. Patients may need rehabilitation after surgery to decrease their pain symptoms and increase their functional capacity. An effective rehabilitation program includes multi-disciplinary programs aiming at the resumption of daily living activities, including exercise therapy, physiotherapy, work and physical activity, and the development of coping strategies for pain. One of the important roles of the nurse in the rehabilitation program, which requires multisiplinary cooperation, is to provide training in health recovery and rehabilitation activities. In this context, the compilation was written to indicate the role and responsibilities of the nurse involved in the multidisiplener team in the rehabilitation stage after lumbar hernia surgery
