A Research on the Tool and its Application Used in the Punishment of Celde

The Celde is a punishment which applied on human body and the most used one in the Islamic Law. For this reason, it is important to determine which instrument should be used in the execution of this sentence to avoid of the injustice. In Turkey especially in the last century, there is a conviction that the execution material of celde punishment is a stick, in the majority of the translated and written f？qh books, tafsir books and translation of the Holy Qur’an. This opinion is an erroneous belief that the metaphorical usage in the hadith and fiqh texts is perceived as truth. In this study, we analyzed the celde, wand and whip and gave the examples from very important texts according to our field. In addition, we tried to figure out the meanings of celde in the classical dictionaries and basic fiqh and tafsir books.
