Analysis of Traditional Housing Architecture in the Context of Sustainability: A Case Study of Ayval？k and Oxford Houses

Geographical and sociological factors have a great influence on architectural design. These effects are especially noticeable in traditional architecture. The physical properties such as heat control, lighting quantity, orientation, dimensions, construction systems and materials of construction are more important in the local architecture than in today's dwellings. When all the factors are taken into consideration, the definition of sustainability is made by itself. This study will be examined in the context of sustainability of traditional stone houses of Ayval？k region from Turkey with similar climatic conditions and Oxfordshire region of England
