Primer Diffuse Iris MelanomaKeywords: ?ris,kedi,melanom,metastaz,oküler tüm?r Abstract: Early diagnosis of diffuse iris melanoma is a very important due to the potential risk of enucleation, metastasis and loss of functional vision. It may occur as a focal or diffuse lession in both eyes. Treatment of the disease varietes according to the age, clinical condition of the patient, the number and size of iridal pigment areas, grownth rate of the tumor, and incidense of glaucoma with chronic üveitis. The material of the study consisted of an eigth-year-old, non-sterilized, male, medium-haired cat. The cat had pigmentation and buphthalmos in the iris of the left eye for approximately one year. Clinical examination revealed diffuse thickening of the iris of the left eye, dark brown pigmentation, pupillary occlusion, secondary glaucoma. In the treatment, the bulbus oculi removed from the orbit by the method of enucleation bulbi and sent for histopathologic examination. According to the histopathological examination, this hyperpigmentation of the iris is diagnosed as diffuse iris melanoma. There isn’t any metastasic findings during the one year follow-up of the patient
