ANALYSIS OF THE FINANCIAL LITERACY LEVELS OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: AN APPLICATION ON DEPARTMENT OF BANKING AND FINANCE - üN？VERS？TE ？？RENC？LER？N？N F？NANSAL OKURYAZARLIK DüZEYLER？N？N ANAL？Z？: BANKACILIK ve F？NANS B？LüMü ？？RENC？LER？ üZER？NE B？R UYGULAMA

Individuals’ ability of evaluating their revenue properly and effectively, consciously deciding while canalizing these revenues to investment instruments is possible through having sufficient level of knowledge in financial issues. Financial literacy, based on calculation of financially necessary level of knowledge and financial awareness, comes forward when its contributions to individual, constitutions and fundamentally national economy. In this study, it was attempted to detect the financial literacy level of the university students who have high opportunity of self-development. In this context, a survey study has been made to Banking and Finance Department students who study at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. According to conclusion of analysis, the financial literacy level of the students has been detected as; high % 6,5, medium % 47,3, low % 37,2, very low % 9. In addition, it is detected that financial literacy levels vary meaningfully in statistical aspect with gender, type of education, class, credit card usage, internet banking usage and buying and selling foreign exchange
