Material and Methods: The study was performed between 15.12.2015-15.05.2016. The sample was not selected. The entire universe is planned to be reached. The sample of the study consisted of 405 nurses. Results: The mean score of the nurses in the problem solving trust sub-dimension was 32.15 ± 8.40, the mean of the points taken in the approach avoidance sub-dimension was 49.60 ± 7.73, and the mean score of the scores in the personal control sub-dimension was 15.80 ± 3.53 from the inventory of problem solving. The mean score of the patients was 97.54 ± 15.53. Conclusion: In the study, problem solving skills of nurses were found to be close to medium level. It is recommended that continuous training programs should be organized on what kind of an approach to nurses should face when they encounter a problematic situation. In addition, we believe that experimental studies can be carried out to develop problem solving skills of nurses in future studies
