A study on capital tax in the printed pressKeywords: Varl?k vergisi,yaz?l? bas?n,haber,Tek Parti Bas?n?,az?nl?klar ve bas?n Abstract: Capital tax, which put into practice in Turkey during the Second World War, aims to generate revenue. It is an application designed to prevent profiteering and black market to obtain an unfair advantage in such ways. Discussions on the subject are still ongoing during the period from the time of application to today. The aims of the tax and punishments given to taxpayers frequently criticized because of claiming that capital tax used as a means of oppression against minorities. This study examines the capital tax in the printed press. How the printed press approaches the subject in the news and comments during the period of the application is revealed. In relation to the subject, the approaches on the subject of the capital tax is mentioned based on the literature and approaches of printed press representing Turkey is given. The news and comments of Son Telgraf, Son Posta, Cumhuriyet, Ak?am, Yeni Sabah, Tan and Vatan newspapers which are leading newspapers of the selected period are examined in this study
