THE SURVEY OF THE OPINIONS OF THE THEACHERS IN TEXTBOOKS WRITING COMMISSION ON CRITICAL THINKING

Abstract:

The aim of this research is to determine the opinions of the teachers who work as an author in the textbook writing commissions of the Ministry of National Education for critical thinking. There are 7 teachers who are determined through sample sampling from the purposive sampling methods in the research. In the study, case studies are used in qualitative research methods. Individual interviews with teachers were conducted using a structured interview form for collecting data. In the analysis of the data obtained from the interviews, content analysis method was used. At the end of the research, teachers found thinking as mental activity, idea generation, brainstorming; and they found critical thinking as knowledge-based and purposeful thinking. In addition, teachers have made explanations for the most objective and alternative of critical thinking components and they have emphasized the most importance in critical thinking standards.
