THE DEVELOPMENT OF MILITARY BAND IN THE HISTORICAL PROCESS AND MUSICAL IDENTITY OF ？TS PERFORMERS

Through history music has always been an impressive force, and this power has attracted the attention of state administrators. The reforms in the field of music have taken an important place especially in the 1800’s with Mahmut II. During this period, there have been important studies in the transition stage of Western vocal music. As a result of these studies, an important institution was established in the name of M？z？ka-i Humayun. Although this institution underwent various changes, today it is training the non-commissioned officer for military band under the name of Band Petty Officer Vocational School Of National Defence University. In this study, The historical development process of military music and how the performers started the music and how the performers started the music, the process of development of their music cultures, how they look at music technically and spiritually, how they established a balance of harmony between their military identity and their musical identity, important point about what they do in order to improve themselves musically were mentioned.
