Parents’ Expectations About Preschool Education End of the Year PartyKeywords: Okul ?ncesi e?itim,y?lsonu e?lencesi,?ocuk,ebeveyn Abstract: The aim of the study is to define parents’ expectations about pre-school education end of year party. The current study is designed within a qualitative research model which is phenomenology. Participants of the study were chosen through one of the purposive sampling methods which is homogenous sampling. Participants consist of 15 parents including 8 mothers and 7 fathers whose children (age 5) are enrolled in a nursery practice school of a university in Ankara. Data was collected with a semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers and an individual interview. Descriptive and content analyses were utilized in data analysis. According to the results, all the parents favor the organization of the “Pre-school Education End of Year Party”. 8 of these parents prefer the content of the party to include school year activities and to be performed on a stage, while 7 of them prefer any fun activity in which children feel themselves comfortable. 8 of the parents expect the party to be held in a performance hall with a stage, while 7 of them expect it to be held in children’s in the class or school yard- according to weather conditions
