Ko？ers from Mardin

The Dom people, or Ko？er people in their local nomenclature, who live and have a significant population in the province of Mardin, have a strategic role in the construction and sustainability of the local cultures of which they are an important part and even important representatives. In-depth interviews conducted with the Bak？r family among the Ko？ers were evaluated as data through systematic observation and interviews executed between 2014 and 2018. This article covers topics such as the languages they speak, their mother tongue, religions, living spaces, ways of living, occupations, musicianship, musical performances, and their relation with other cultural groups and the significance of their existence in the cultural sphere of the region.
