A STUDY ON THE CLUSTERING OF INTERNAL MIGRATION MOVEMENTS IN TURKEY BY EDUCATION LEVELKeywords: G??,E?itim Durumu,?l,Kümeleme Analizi,Diskriminant Analizi,Diskriminant Analizi Abstract: Objective: In this study, educational status of the population (aged 15+) that move towards provinces of Turkey, which are affected by internal migration, is examined. Methods: Through the data taken from the Turkish Statistical Institute, 81 provinces of Turkey are categorized via clustering analysis based on the educational status of immigrants who move in and out in 2016. The validity of the groups is examined through the application of discriminant analysis. Results: As a result, all provinces are categorized into 7 clusters and it is observed that among the immigrants, approximately, 80% have a high school degree or above whereas 11% have only a primary school degree. Moreover, the classification of provinces that is obtained by the clustering analysis is found, through discriminant analysis, to be accurate by 97.5% for the population that moved in and by 92.6% for the population that moved out. Conclusion: It is thought that the classifications which determine the education level of populations that move towards each province would provide guidance for related policies, practices and other academic studies in the field
