FROM SOCIAL EXCHANGE THEORY TO SOCIAL CAPITAL CONCEPTUALISATION: RATIONAL CHOICE THEORY

In the process of conceptualizing social capital, capital has been torn from its social nature. The capital is torn from the social nature, and both its movement and its historical context are ignored. Approaches based on mainstream economics in the process of demolishing capital from social nature (methodological individualism approach, social exchange theory, economic approach, rational choice theory) have an important role in the colonization of other social sciences by economics. When the economic imperialism is forced to progress within these approaches and when the reactions increase, the term of "social capital", which gives rise to the so-called unity of economic and non-economic relations to the mainstream economics and covers the superficial social capital understanding of mainstream economics, has grown.
