An Investigation on Educational Beliefs and Self-Efficacy Beliefs of Preschool Teachers and Teacher Candidates

This study was conducted to investigate education and selfefficacy beliefs of teachers and candidate teachers in the respect of different variables. Totally 165 preschool teachers serving at official nursery schools in the centre of Erzurum city and 106 last grade students attending at Atatürk University Kaz？m Karabekir Education Faculty Preschool Teaching Department participated in the study, conducted in common and relative scanning model. “Education Beliefs Scale” developed by Y？lmaz, Alt？nkurt and ？okluk 2011) and “Self Efficacy Scale Of Preschool Teachers” (Tepe and Demir 2012) were employed to determine education and self-efficacy beliefs of preschool teachers and candidate preschool teachers, respectively. In the analysis of data obtained in the study, for the variables in normal distribution, t test was used for independent samplings, Pearson moments multiplication, correlation analysis and structural change model were also used in the study. As a result of the research, it was determined that pre-service teachers and teachers who are close to the belief in progressivism and existentialism have higher self-efficacy beliefs
