Primary Schools Of The Sanjak Of The Mentese In The Education Inspection Reports (1915-1917)

The inspections of the primary schools in the sanjak of Mentese between 1915-1917, which is the subject of this research, consist of two school years. In this process, the primary schools in Mu？la (the center of sanjak), Fethiye, Marmaris, Milas, K？yce？iz, Bodrum districts and the villages belonging to these districts were inspected. These inspection reports, in the Catalogue of Heyet-i Tefti？iye of the Maarif Fonu in the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives are unique sources that contain many valuable information such as the situation of school buildings, educational materials, student attendance, teaching staff, quality of teaching in terms of the education studies. In this study, the primary schools in the sanjak of Mente？e during the First World War will be examined and evaluated in the light of the datas in the inspection reports.
